Experiencing beauty through arts, architecture, & faith

Christianity, Beauty & the Arts

God has given us a breadth of sensory capacities, all of which have a role to play in our relationship with him and our growth in grace.

Nature reveals the character and glory of God (Psalm 19:1-6) and culture, what we make of nature, done right lends itself to human flourishing (Psalm 104:14-15). Guided experiences in both can arrest our attention in unique ways that are fun, strengthen our faith and form us spiritually.

Our Time Together

We will meet at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. After a time of sharing and discussion we will look at select pieces of art together in the galleries. In this immersive and interactive experience we will not just learn about the role of art in Christianity and spiritual formation, we also will take time to enjoy and be formed by it.

School Groups

Art is an important pursuit. God has designed shapes and colors and created beauty in the natural world that reveals his character and glory. He wants us to take what he has created and do the same. We were made to make something out of the world that elevates the senses, opens us up to God and points us to the true, the beautiful, and the good. In my classes and experiences we will not just explore the role of art in Christianity, we will take time to enjoy and be inspired by it. Options include a Field Trip to Minneapolis Institute of Art, a Course on Christianity & the Arts, or a Hybrid experience.
